| I live 50 miles east of St Louis and in the fall of 2005 the effects of hurrican katrina were noticible. The local storage were full and no grain was moving south on the mississippi. I was on my last 40 and my choices were let the corn stand, pile it on the ground or send it down the road for 1.35 a bushell. I sent it down the road and ended up getting 1.45 after the basis changed and l felt lucky. After all LDP was 1.89 and it somehow paid all the bills. Those were the good old days | |
