Subject: RE: Morton buildings

NC Kansas
local builder here puts up Behlen steel buildings. We've done 2 in the last 3 years... one shop and one warehouse type. We never priced Morton but did a few wood frame types... too many details to talk about but only Cleary and QSI came in cheaper and that was maybe by $5,000 on a $85,000 project. That was just going to be a pole shed with a slab poured in it after the fact. With steel I have a 36" footing all the way around. It was a no-brainer... The ONLY drawback to steel is it's a little harder to finish out the inside where with a wood frame it's easy to start slapping up plywood or tin to line the walls if needed. Wick and EPS came in higher priced... and I didn't even bother calling Morton, maybe I should have.

Morton may be top of the line but I think 1/2 the battle is a good crew that is competent and prompt.
