The Dominator is probably just a good of a machine but it is much heavier and pulls harder. You better have a 500+ hp tractor on tracks to properly pull one of those. The 875's are hard to beat.
What do you suppose the reason is for that? Wouldn't possibly be cuz it's doing more tillage/mixing would it? Nah, couldn't be. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing an 875, because no doubt they do a magnificent job. Just dispelling the myth guys like to claim they are far superior to anything else out there. As a matter of fact, I think an interesting trial would be for me to take a used $8500 Landall 2420 out in the fall and run it against all the other latest, greatest iron out there. Then do a yield check next fall. If there were any yield difference at all I'd be really surprised. And I'd save about fifty grand besides in the purchase price.
