It might be easier for you to understand if you had beans of your own that were victims of Extend drift. In my case my good neighbor did everything by the book, with breeze actually blowing away from my beans at time of application of Extend. No doubt an inversion or whatever excuse you choose to call it.
I received the Monsanto talk that they might actually yield more, which is a little hard to take when they look like they could die. That is not the point, the chemical was not controlled, and entered onto my property. I view it somewhat as trespassing or vandalism. Many folks are getting a free pass this year due to ignorance, but there won't be any excuses if it is used next year.
I find it very aggravating that I chose to do the right, responsible thing by laying off of Extend for a year to see what happens because I farm in many sensitive specialty crop areas and then get hit myself.
This issue is dividing neighbors and the AG community. | |
