I really like the set up.
I have three bins that are similar to the 2 bins you have in your picture, and would like to build a tower much like you have.
Will the load out be above the cross auger?
Hi Roger -
No, originally the load out was above the cross auger, but we moved it north several feet. We may buy some grain at some point, and there are a lot of guys with straight trucks or end dumps that couldn't dump in the cross auger if the overhead bin and structure was above it. There will be a pipe from the distributor right above the cross auger that will let us load out directly from the leg.
It also will let us load another truck from the overhead bin at the same time we are dumping into the cross auger. Not that I think that will happen much.
The downside is if you have stuff in the load out bin that you want to go back into a big bin, you can't just let it fall down into the cross auger, and take it back up the leg. |
