WCIL | If your planter is a 2009 deere you can add the Rowcomand option to it and use swath pro to control the shutoffs. If the planter is 2008 or older then the rowcommand is too costly of an option compared to tru count. You would have to replace the wire harness on the backbone and the one in the draft tube.
For a deere RTK system you are good out to 12 miles from the base station provided you have line of sight to your base. If there isn't a dealer network in your area you would have to buy your own base station for around $10,000 and move it from field to field. Then you would also need to ugrade your current reciever to SF2 ready and RTK ($4000 and $3000) and add a RTK radio $1300. | |
