I have '97 7810 MFWD Power shift. 3500 hours. Good engine. Good torque at lower rpm and starts easy as all 8.1s do. Other than updating the mfwd seals no issues. Have to be careful it is fully stopped before putting in park or that can do some expensive damage. Not sure that is the case with the quad range though.

Also have 8110 same hp on dyno. The 8110 will out pull and run faster due to the gearing in the mfwd hubs. Axles are also heavier on 8110. Turning radius not as tight on the 7810 because of the fenders and how they are mounted.

Don't think you would go wrong by getting it.


When the PS tractors get some wear in the linkage, sometimes they will still be in first gear when the shift lever is placed in Park. That has cracked transmission housings. PQ transmissions have a different shifting mechanism which eliminates that issue.
