I bought a RAM mount cradle from MartensFarm.com that the iPAQ sits in and converts the iPAQ dock to 9pin serial. Work realy well last year to collect data from the 500 during planting using SST Stratus (Summit). I am using the wi-fi in my house as the internet connection right now.
