IL | I expect the bean progress to improve slightly in Illinois at least. The weather trend that started back in February is due to cycle through a wet period in the next 5-7 days. Using data points from https://waterdata.usgs.gov/il/nwis/current/?type=precip the state average for precipitation has developed what i believe to be a pattern. A 19 day cycle of dry, under 1.2" precipitation total, followed by 9 days adding up to 3.1" of precipitation. This data I've compiled since March daily searching for patterns. The variation in time on both dry and wet cycles is +/- 1.5days. Precipitation variation is +/- .3
If this pattern holds, the next crop progress report will directly follow a wet cycle. This is a wide view of the state that may possibly be weighted based on location of more rain gagues near larger populations (north of I-72).
Started to collect data for neighboring I States but got overwhelmed by sheer amount of data and decided to focus solely on Illinois. | |
