Subject: RE: Crop Progress

East Central South Dakota
so many variables to grasp. Soil types, spotty rains, subsoil------ I thought we would be worst than we are, but crops are tough anymore. It gets better going east and worse going west. I am tired speculating on yield.. If it stays hot and dry yields will get worse and if it starts raining yields will get better---APH for the state is lost already. I will say financially 80-100 bushel corn is a disaster and my area financially would be better off if it doesn't rain ( if you don't have cattle ) because we are at 80 if it would start raining. Crop insurance treats 0-10 bushel corn better than 100 bushel corn.
