Subject: RE: Machinist vise for drill press

east central ND
You can order a china Angle Lock style 4" machinist vice off ebay or amazon for about $100. Might not meet specs for a die hard machinist, but for my drill press it has been a HUGE improvement. Now I also want a 6". I gave up on a really cheapo vise that the jaws would tilt a bit when tightened down. The machinist angle lock style is the way to go to hold a part square. A set of cheap parallels to hold the work up in the vise jaws are nice too. If your serious about being 100% exact, cash in a savings bond and get a USA made Kurt!
