I blow my JD baler chains off after each cutting and after the last cutting in the fall spray chains with this unique Boeing chain lube. This is a good chain lube originally suggested to me by the owner of our very good local bicycle shop. They use it on all of their bicycle chains. The chain is not oily after the lube dries. I started using it once a year my solar panel tracker chain as that is not a job I want to do very often. Now use it on about any chain including the baler. One of the key things it does when applied after the last cutting is to minimize corrosion in the chain over the winter 6 month or more storage period. FWIW, when I was a young engineer on combines many years ago I remember several of the old timers in the department telling me about the feederhouse drive chains at the time: "the more you lube them the faster they wear out".
