I think it is good for "farm kids" to get an off farm job too. See what the real world is like and see some different management styles too.
I agree, but I never really got that chance. I did get through a two year community college with an ag business degree. If I were young now, I probably would have got the chance, but back then we still had dairy cows and was expanding the row crop. A few years after college we quit dairy, but also one of dad's cousins split off from the farm to his own gig and semi retirement, so they still need me or would had to have hired someone at least part time. |
