With no one in the seat and key off, you should only have power at pin 14 on the larger instrument panel connector. Pin 13 is the ground for the instrument panel. Other pin which have input power at times are pin 12 when ign on, pin 11 when sitting in the seat, pin 10 when cranking, pin 4 when seat belt is fastened. Pin 5 is power out to the fuel solenoid when engine is started.

Might unplug the other connector to see if that puts out the light since that connectors are for the sensors which in the case of the alternator may be sending current when it should not.
