I would pull the instrument panel off (4 or 6 screws if I recall ) and look for mouse damage. The frame section it is mounted to / in is hollow and a favorite place for mice to nest....chew and pee. Hope it's OK, mine cost me $800 to replace for that reason, plus a $150 battery that went dead because of the shorted IP (and would not re-charge)
