SW Kansas
Jim,
We farm in SW Kansas and most of our corn is in a corn on corn rotation under center pivot irrigation. We have not seen any Dawn strip till rigs out here. Do you have any dealers here? We use an Orthman 1tRIPer and get along OK but it is a horse power hog. We have been using NH3 for the cost savings but it requires two trips. There are a few operations that attach their planter and the strip till rig together and plant in one trip. Unless you are in the sand the soil moisture even in SW kansas can be a problem. You mentioned a coulter that you are using to put down NH3. Could we get some information on that? We put some Yetter coulters on a bar and side dressed with NH3 and got along fairly well. I would also like to get some information on your strip till rigs.
Thanks,
Steve
