Most Country elevators do not have protein testers.. and even if they did most do not have the ability to segregate the volume of grain coming at them.  

Terminals test and segregate by pro.. the resellers will scout and buy the hot spots.. sending people to go check.. go buy within.. 60 miles of such and such.. etc.. is pretty common.

Generally protein improves as you go west.. mixed reports so far.. some decent for the "local" reported already..
