NW KS/ SC ID | I know of a guy that owns a handful of them, and gets along great with them. He says dont get them hot and run the overhead often, and they will treat you well.
The 4880 MF on grain cart has a turboed 903, and its turned to 400+ HP, and will see north of 2800 RPM on occasion. It has never given any problems and can get the 1000 bushel Brent Avalanche to 20+ MPH out in the field.
I would say anyone that says no torque has never driven one. That thing will launch in any gear, no matter the load. what does a 4wd tractor with a full 1000 bushel cart weigh? Over 100K?
He also has a KW truck with one factory installed, and hooked to a 13 speed. It will flat go, it will outrun the 400 hp 855s. And that is not even intercooled like the 855s are.
He finds all the parts he needs, IDK where, but I know the internet is a well used tool.
He has bought most of them sick, but once repaired he has not ever been in them again, so IMO that speaks volumes on what a good maintenance program will do for one. | |
