Beresford, SD | Very south east corner here, went from wet to needing a drink in 7 days. Last field of beans I notilled. Had planter set like I was planting corn.....a few in dry dirt on the knolls of the hills and got tractor stuck trying to cross a draw...(yes, I pissed off dad). Still have great potential, just need an inch to help all the seedling get rooted down....we go a week with this forecast (and no rain) and we are in the same boat as those north west of us. Sub soil is good but the top 3 inches has gone from wet to powder this week.
Thinking about covering corn needs that exceed my crop insurance guarantee on Monday. | |
