Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I believe they can. They can also shutdown for some period of time for "maintenance". Local plant does it every year for at least one week. I think they could do it for a 2-3 weeks if they wanted BUT, this year they have corn bought for most of the summer so about have to keep running to take it.
AND, the DDGs coming out of the plant are needed and spoken for far in advance so there are times of the year they operate on thin or negative margins in order to keep the supply of DDGs going. |
