| It depends what type of tire you are referring to.
A forklift with cushion tires (something unique to North America, they really aren’t used anywhere else in the world) cannot be converted to air/pneumatic tires. Generally, you’ll know if your forklift has cushion tires if the model of the forklift has the letter C in it.
Examples:
Toyota 7FGCU25 = forklift with cushion tires
Toyota 7FDU25 = forklift that doesn’t have cushion tires.
Now, if you don’t have a cushion tired forklift and your forklift has pneumatic tires, then the answer to your question is yes. Forklifts with pneumatic tires can be equipped with solid-shaped pneumatics tires. If you have a tire like that, then yes, you can remove those tires and replace with air tires. You’ll know if you have a forklift like this if a) your forklift model doesn’t have the letter C in the model designation and b) the size on the forklift tire reads something like 700:12 or 825:15, or something like that.
