We lay it out wide as possible let top get pretty good and dry and then ted. This usually amounts to mowing one day then kicking the next morning if it's hot then baling that afternoon or next day depends on hay and all that. If ground is wet we will mow into tight windrow let ground dry then kick. If ground is wet and you ted it will pull moisture out ground
