As of Monday Kansas had 1.5 myn acres of corn left to plant.. the first time.. plus replants.  800k alone in the NW quandrant.  I would suspect that we've made some progress this week but not to the finish line yet.  Some area's are facing MAJOR Replant issues also..

Today is the last day for 100% yield on Crop insurance.. which means Prevented Plantings are now an option.

Along with the issues in the Eastern Cornbelt there could be 3 to 5 myn acres affected.. capping US plantings at 85 to 87 myn acres from 89.9 myn intentions.

Along with these events we have seen basis bids rally about $0.40 the past 3 weeks here.. with cash values approaching $4.00 as  buyers have gone hand to mouth waiting on farmers to puke.. which so far has not happened in sufficient quantities.

It's a muddy mess out there.. make a round.. stop.. dig out the mud.. go again.. We need a DRY WEEK here to finish..

Good luck.

Later.

edit add the last 5 to 10% here is still under water.. so.. we're not going to make it to 100% in...

edit add part duex: some are facing 80% replants.. we probably got.. 3..5% but doubt we'll get there..??

This was the DRYEST field yesterday.. lol.. yipper just 1.5 myn more acres left to go..

the Forecast?  Rain tonight.. tomorrow.. and next week.  Lovely..

That might be out of the ordinary for you guys in the great plains.  But isn't that unusual in Iowa.  There would be a grass waterway there, and it is not uncommon at all to cross water.  Certainly not ideal, but we did it this year numerous times.   Now you guys know why "up here" we have try to have equipment to plant corn in 5 days or less.  Welcome to our world.

Good luck and take care.
