not to keep this going forever, but, 1. It pays interest so someone will lend them money 2. the govt taxes the productive class, not itself 3. when the govt pays off debt is puts cash out, into what you want to call the private sector. It is the opposite when borrowing, it takes the cash, or drains it from the private sector.
we are in a different book, different language, in a different hemisphere..........
