| If the neighbors only farm poor ground like the farm across the road, they likely won't have a high APH to use on the new farm. Or, they already farm in the same section and have to use actual yields vs. the simple average of all their other, better farms. There have been times around here where someone that farms all flat black drives across the county to farm a couple hundred acres next to a sand pit. The neighbors all thought he would go broke farming poor ground and paying high rent, not realizing the game that was being played. | |
