Farmington, Mo | Overall, I agree with the concept of cutting the usda budget and eliminating certain programs. However, I do not think it is wise to use certain areas of the economy to play politics with (I.e. Healthcare most recently). I have always thought that it would be better for the economy and everyone in general to make overal "haircut" style cuts...let's say 5% per year to every line item in the budget until it is balanced, then start paying down the debt with any surplus.
That would treat everyone fairly on the way down. No one gets singled out all at once. However, this will never happen as no one in DC seems to have any common sense...I would sign the petition if it was stated as an overall "everyone takes a % cut"....even defense. | |
