Cat and NAVSTAR had a partnership to produce Cat Work Trucks. Cat provided the tranny and some other powertrain componants. NAVSTAR put them together with parts spec'd by CAT. They had problems with production/spec's and soon CAT was investing into their own production / Assyembly location/building . . . . that was soon squelched by management as unsustainable profits. CAT Scratched (pun intended) the whole concept and stuck to it's core business. . . . ..
