Maybe a here thing on my ground but too deep and a big rain and you are asking for problems. Had a row unit on a JD 750 not set as deep as the others last year. Had three weeks of dry weather after planting before first shower. That late emerging row showed until about the latter part of August but by harvest time couldn't tell it from the others.
