Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA
We have a 13' 1610 (with stub extensions to 15') like you have pictured that my dad bought new in the late 80's and a 25' 1600 that I picked up at a local auction a few years ago. If I had it to do again I would likely pass on the 1600. The 1" shanks and smaller shovel bolts just don't hold up like the heavier ones on the 1610. The 1610 has been very good for over 30 years now and lately has held up to every kind of hell we can expose it to. We pretty much only use it anymore for spot chiseling headlands or digging up rocks before picking and it's still in one piece. Somehow.
