Just below where the hose screws into the gun, there is a plug to take out and there is a little metal ball inside there. Take it out and clean it and put it back together. My grease gun was doing the exact same thing. My Milwaukee dealer told me how to fix it and it's worked great ever since. I was about ready to throw that grease gun away before I cleaned that metal ball.
