When I was looking a couple years ago I was open to all brands.  Have about 3 choices of engines, 2 choices of hydros.  All that is different is the deck and frame.  Frame is pretty much identical on most of them (suspension being one difference).  Look at deck depth and spindle size.  Buy a commercial unit if you want something good.

I bought a Husqavarna PZ72, are they the best? probably not, but a darn nice mower for reasonable money. Buy the best deal for the time with good dealer support.
