Subject: RE: New Holland vs John Deere round baler

southeastern ohio

went thru the same last year. Looked at NH 450 silage and JD 459 SS. Bought the Deere, been very happy with it. Both are good balers. Before buying, I talked to several guys that had recently.  All 3 were coming from Br7060 NH. 2 bought deere and said had much less problems with plugging at outter ends of pick up than NH. The Nh guy said the new 450 had better pickup than before but still did plug in right condition. That help my decision, but it came down to price, the Deere ended up being 4k less after trade.

The Nh has a wider pickup but I think the Deere has a tougher pickup and driveline. my opinion only.
