| IMHO....Based on past experience the cost to plug and abandon an old gas well can go south very quickly. The abandonment costs being quoted are likely based on average costs, however if you run into problems that can quickly increase ( you could also be very lucky and do it for less!!!) . There is also the possible situation whereby you partially recover the pipe and are unable to complete the abandonment...the state or county may request that the abandonment/pipe recovery is completed to their statutory requirements...how long is a piece of string. | |
