We run 2 coil packers. One runs in pretty heavy dirt. It was a double coil and that didn't work. We took the inside coils out. Worked a lot better after that. Still stuck to the coils some but the planter sure worked good into that firmer seed bed. We designed a clevis and chain to clean out the coil packer if they do get mud in them.
