| I understand it that way too and it very possibly could play out that way, or not. Some guys need to move on from the 80's talk. The 80's were exceptionally tough times for farmers for various reasons talked about at length on here many times. Could it happen again? Sure, but when? Noone knows. I know some guys who have never bought any land or expanded their operations, and now don't have enough to keep another generation of farmers in their family, all because everytime times got tough for a year or 2 they thought "the 80s are coming back". They were too scared to take any risk at all. There have been many commodity cycles over the years and this too shall pass. | |
