Subject: RE: hog barn help needed

SW MN Fulda
The packers don't seem to have anything against them. We only go to Tyson, in Storm Lake Iowa because they are the only ones that take them over 300# as we feed ours up to 330#ish
Lange does not have much experience with this as all the barns that are on liquid feed, have been barns that were already up and just converted over to liquid.... As far as slat- eating properties, I don't think its much different then dry barns. The barns i've been taking care of, the slats were starting to get worn out already so that makes a difference. If you keep up on maintenance, it shouldn't be a problem.

I hope the project all works out. The banks (mostly FSA) are a little concerned incase the integrator pulls out eventually so i'm trying to get my costs down far enough that if it were to happen, I could still potentially make it work with dry fed pigs...

Darn electric company is making me pull from a 1/2 mile away even though there is a line that runs right beside the site, but they are trying to sell that as a transfer line and won't allow me to get service from it. Costs just under $12,000 to get service to the site from 1/2 mile. There are 4 yards/houses on the "transfer line" that they need to get taken off before they are able to sell to the other company. You know darn well that they won't make those 4 families pay to get there service switched over. Makes me a tad frustrated.
Then the FSA also makes it so the company building it is bonded, so that adds another $12,000... $10/hd right there in unnecessary costs.

If anyone knows any investors that would like in on it, let me know!
