drill a hole in the start and at end of the crack, this will stop the crack from spreading . Then weld over holes and the crack.
On the oil, we always take a torch, and burn the oil out of the crack, then weld. Also can take exhaust from a motor, and plumb in disc oil fill hole with a hose, the carbon monoxide from the motor will displace the oxygen in frame and keep thing on safe side
