Subject: RE: welding crack in frame with oil inside

central - east central Minnesota -

snsw no till - 3/8/2017 05:32 Tandem disc I just bought has a couple of tiny cracks in the frame. The whole frame can be filled with oil for extra ballast. There is a little oil in there that hasn't leaked out the cracks (looks like sump oil). Wondering if it is dangerous to attempt to weld. If I grind out the crack and carefully Mig weld.

Yes, that would be dangerous to weld . . . .  kind of the same as welding a fuel tank or old oil barrel.
If you could drain the oil and fill with water and keep it full, as welding?
