NE ND | I've ran a 96 854 since 2009. I get anywhere from 10K to 15K acres on it each year. Some fields get sprayed 5 times so stuff starts adding up fast.
I can't help you on the wheel motor issues.
IMO don't order Bray valve seal kits. My Agco source sells the complete valve less the actuator for only about $25 more.....much easier to just get valve.
If your only going to spray 1000 acres don't waste your time stretching to 90 ft. If your land is anything close to square you could easily spray 1000 acres in two days.
Yeah, I wouldn't worry about fenders either. Just drive if they don't look pretty, but I would want them on. I seem to deal with a lot of mud at times, would suck without fenders.
With 8004 nozzles, about 11.5 mph gives me 40 psi. I run these and 11005s at times but probably spray at 12-15mph most of the time. IMO if you are going to run an 854 all day at 6 mph, I'd buy a tractor sprayer. If you spray 1000 acres at 11-12 mph and drop back down to 6 mph you will feel like you need to jump out and pound in a stake to see if your actually moving....lol. But if you get into some really choppy, rough conditions, anything over 8 mph can be a guts and back killer in an 854.
Never used my foamer. Put JD autosteer on it and never went used foamer once.
Good luck.
Edit....sprayed lots of land a few years ago that was 10-20 yr CRP coming out of contracts. Some of it was so covered in gopher mounds, ant hills, etc, sprayed lots of it for burndown, switched to manual pressure at 30 psi, at 3-5 mph......it was all the machine and body could take......roughest stuff I've ever seen.
