Subject: Re: Narrower Tires for spraying

NE S.Dakota
My sprayer tractor is a 6085 AgcoWhite, it has 16.9-34 rears 14.9 -24 fronts. My goal is 13.8-42 and 13.8-28 to keep the gear ratio bias where it needs to be. I spray my 15 inch row beans a couple of times per season. but will probably be making more passes in the coming years. My previous sprayer tractor is a 300 IHC with a narrow front. I have to run a row of beans between the front tires with that set up. I am looking forward to having a cab on my sprayer tractor, and MFD hopefully will keep me from getting stuck in the mud. I have been hiring my small grain sprayed, either by air or ground, one of the reason was the front tire tracks left by the 300.

So far the 6085 has been less than friendly, it had a miss when I bought it, hoping for an injector problem,I made the purchase. Many thousands later it runs ok, but now the water pump is leaking like a sieve. This little tractor was made by Lamborghini, and parts are not cheap. Currently removing the water pump for rebuild or replacement. Then we will get back to the tires.

I have a set of take off rims spotted at a local tire shop, which I can modify to work for the rear, the front wheels are also available there. $100 each for the rears $80 each for the fronts.

Eventually I want to use this tractor on the snowblower and grain vac, it has an 80HP turbo 4 cylinder engine, which I hope gives better fuel economy than my old 300 gasser.

All good things are worth waiting for...........right?
