Here is a reply I made on another thread  about this on the machinery page. The VR3 has a jack where you can also plug in a portable cd player and play it through the radio also. In my case I usually just use the flash drive for storing the mp3's but I can also plug in a portable player that will play regular music cd's or mp3's burned to cd's
