Eastern Iowa | We have built enough storage over the years to store all of our harvest for many of the same reasons others have replied to already – biggest one is your own bin site is open 24/7 at harvest – elevator is not. We have bought new as well as used bins and found benefits to both. No work but more money for all new, more work and less money for used – if you get bought right. The good used bins we have put up are about 50-60% of the cost of new. I am sure you can find good used bins in the size you are talking if you are willing to do some work it will save you money. Either way build bigger than you think you need, the last new bin we bought in the winter and were wishing we had gone 6’ wider and 2 rings taller by the time they put it up in the summer!!!
