We dont use an antifreeze mixture.

I was told the antifreeze makes the system less efficient then pure water.

My plumber told us if we are ever going to shut it down for extended periods during the winter and let it freeze you will want to use an antifreeze mixture or drain it.

Most people dont ever shut them off and we dont plan to either. The only concern we would have would be an extended power outage or malfunction over a long weekend or something in REALLY cold weather. I still doubt it would freeze for a week or better... especially if the doors were never opened.

We are in the shop pretty much daily.
