If it's going across a farm yard and only 4.5 ft deep (you must be in the south) I would either bed it in sand or put it inside some pvc maybe 3", whichever is easier.  Combine and grain cart etc tire compaction can extend very deep depending on soil moisture and type. That's a job you want to do just once. Also put in a curb stop/shutoff.
