Indiana | I custom spray and terminate alfalfa fields each year. Best control I found is to spray with a quart of roundup, wait 3 days then cut and chop hay field for haylage. It's permitted on roundup label, and safe to feed. The 3 days waiting to mow provides enough time to get chemical down to roots. Then I come back in season on post apps with either roundup or liberty to knock out any that comes back.
If you must terminate earlier, try to wait until it's warm, then 24d and roundup will smoke it. | |
