Before you completely dismiss it, Rikards has worked for the Pentagon. Not that that fact has much meaning.

Because something has not happened, is no guarantee it will not happen. Timing is another issue.

For sure a person can not live in fear if an imminent apocalyptic incident. But a little prepararion for the unknown is just insurance. A cost of doing business. A "put" in marketing terms.

Puts seem to be popular marketing purchases for price protection of crops. Even when most expire worthless. Why is a financial "put" such a bad idea?
