NC Missouri | How well the 1020 shaves the ground is probably due to how much the feeder house saddle is tilted. Specs call for 10 degree tilt forward from straight up. My experience is if I tilt it too for forward it will get dirt in the header... to far back will drag under header.
Was the flighting on the auger worn? Will hurt feeding if not square edge to flighting. Rustly pan will increase problem, too.
I've had rock traps in the past. After running without one will not buy another. If your worried about rocks install a 2 inch flexible hose behind quards and rocks become a none issue. I'm sure someone has pictures if you want more imfo. Several guys on here have stated rocks set in a "dead" spot on draper heads so you don't need a rock trap for it either. | |
