Embarrass WI | I don't remember ever seeing a silo filler being used 'for real' but I do remember being around when my Dad filled silos with false front wagons and a long hopper blower. Chopping was done with a chopper in the field. He would pull the wagon up a bit too far, drop the conveyor on the blower, back the wagon up a couple inches, hook up the ratchet to the wagon, and stand behind the wagon with a straw hook pulling the fodder out and into the conveyor. It was a happy day when he got the first self-unloading wagon. | |
