EC NE | For me, the deck is the deciding factor.
When it’s time to cut, the damn grass is always wet.
I want a deck that stays clean underneath and doesn’t throw clumps out the chute.
Most all decks will do fine in dry to damp conditions.
The three decks below — properly set up — are some of/the best for wet conditions.
You didn’t say what your budget is.
I wouldn’t spend less than about $4k on anything if your budget is below $6K.
Budget around $6K:
Deere- Z535R or Z540R with the Edge HC (9-Iron) deck.

Budget around $10K:
Deere- any 900 series with the 7-Iron deck.

Scag- any model with the Velocity Plus deck.

Also consider what type of blades you’re using.
Med-Lift, Hi-Lift, Gator G5/G6 blades can alter the behavior of the deck.
Most machines will come with the OEM med-lift blades.
Changing to hi-lifts will move a lot more air but needs more HP.
Gator G5/G6 blades will reduce clippings size.

They call these Gators "mulching" but they actually are meant for side-discharge.
Use "wavy" blades for mulching with a mulching kit installed.
To run hi-lifts on a 60” deck, I would suggest:
If gross weight (with you & fuel) is around 800 lbs., get a 24 HP engine minimum.
If your gross is over 1K lbs., get a little larger engine.
A close dealer is a priority for any warranty work & they should transport free under warranty.
With a Deere 900 you should get a service-loaner if yours goes down.
Ride can be improved on any machine with low — correct — tire pressures & seat-suspension systems.
Happy Shopping!
