Subject: RE: Treat beans or don't?

West Kentucky
For me, this question is very similar to the starter fertilizer question. We personally have found very little value in starter fertilizer, but all of our beans are treated (all are from Beck's, so wouldn't have the option if I didn't like it). The treatments have helped us get some stands in some tough situations that neighbors who planted naked beans had some issues with. I definitely don't believe it pays all of the time, but like it overall.

As far as your treated Beck's beans vs naked other beans, there won't be anything you can hope to learn from that comparison. If you want to see if it helped, treat half of one of the other varieties that you intend to plant.
